Phantasy Star Online 2 at E3 2019
Until E3 2019, I was not familiar with Phantasy Star Online 2. In my defense, the game has only ever been commercially available in Japan. However, that will change in 2020. Microsoft announced that Phantasy Star Online 2 would come to the west for the very first time via the Xbox One. Check out the announcement trailer below.
I am very excited about this game. Phantasy Star Online 2 first released on PC in Japan in 2012. Naturally, this means that there are a ton of helpful resources available for beginners. This also means that the game has been established, tweaked, updated, and polished quite a bit since its release. Therefore, the game that will be coming to the west will be relatively polished and packed with content. Best of all, it is free to play. The graphics look great, and the character customization looks diverse. I read that the character classes can be changed at any time, and I greatly appreciate that feature. This looks like the type of action-RPG game I like.
I will 100% check this game out next year. With it being free-to-play, there is no reason not to give it a try. I am hoping I can get my friends on board with playing it, too. Phantasy Star Online 2 is one of my top games from E3 2019.
